Antique 1800s Carved Marble Soapstone & Metal Lamp
Someone took an 1800s piece of carved marble/soapstone, in this case probably a vase, and converted it to an electric lamp. Carvings are exquisitely detailed and you can see veins in the leaves. The flower petals are nicely detailed too. There is a rope twist accented metal base with Chinese characters. Features an Eagle brand cord made in the USA. With the shade the lamp is 16 inches tall and the base is 6 1/2 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches deep. The shade is 8 inches wide at the base and tapers to 3 1/2 inches at the top. There may be one small chip on a blade of grass and one tiny chip off a spout rim, see photos. It is hard to tell if they are chips or just part of the marble.
