This HUICHOL Yarn Painting Arte Tepehuano Floral Art features a 9.5"square beautiful hand-painted design on a wooden board, measuring approximately 4x4"". Created by Native American Mexican artisans, this unique piece of Huichol art showcases intricate floral patterns typical of Mexican culture.

Framed/matted Huichol yarn art, also known as "tablas de estambre" or yarn paintings. This intricate art form is created by the Huichol (or Wixárika) people, an indigenous group residing in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains of Mexico. Key characteristics of Huichol yarn art are boards traditionally made of wood, are coated with a mixture of beeswax and resin. Colored yarn is then carefully pressed into the wax to create the designs.
These yarn paintings are deeply rooted in Huichol culture and spirituality, often depicting myths, ceremonies, and visions experienced during rituals, especially those associated with the hallucinogenic peyote
Framed and matted under glass with black wood frame
