・To make it easy to hold, the shape is designed to be widest slightly closer to the nib than the center.

・Sanding is done from coarse to 600 grit. This gives it a moderate shine, allowing you to enjoy the natural texture and aroma of the wood.

・The surface is cut repeatedly while checking to ensure there are no irregularities.

・The finish uses Kinu Oil. The main ingredient is rice-derived, tasteless, odorless, and gentle on the skin.

・By alternating the sanding direction vertically and horizontally, the sanding marks are made less noticeable.

Scientific Name: Chamaecyparis formosensis
Other Names: Taiwan Benihioki
An evergreen conifer classified in the Cupressaceae family.
Protected in the Alishan National Scenic Area in Taiwan, and logging is prohibited.

Burl
Rare because it can only be obtained from limited parts of the tree, such as the trunk and roots.
The causes of burl formation include damage to the tree from insect entry, injury, disease, typhoons, etc., which cause abnormal cell proliferation during the repair process, as well as genetic factors.
Various patterns appear, such as swirls, ripples, and eye-like grain.
